Newsletter - Week of Aug. 16.

We have made it through our first two full weeks and are getting ready to start another one! Things are going pretty smoothly and I have been pleasantly surprised at how ready the students are for first grade. I am so excited to see what all we will be able to accomplish this year.

I just want to remind you how important it is for your child to read and complete their homework assignment each evening. I will send home a weekly reading sheet each Monday. This will have listed all objectives for the week as well as nightly homework assignments. Your child will also be expected to complete Side B of their math sheet each evening. If you would happen to lose your reading sheet, it is listed on our classroom website. Go to www.carter.kyschools.us, school webpages, Heritage, classrooms, Mullins.

If your child brings home a behavior reflection, please sign and return it the next day. This is to keep you up to date on any unacceptable behavior by your child. I am trying to stay on top of any discipline issues from the start in order to keep our classroom learning environment as pleasant as possible for all students. Not only do disruptive behaviors disturb other students, it takes away from learning time when I am having to reprimand students.

Please help your child to remember their lunch #, which is the last four digits of their SS#. When we have to stop and look up numbers, it takes away from the time they have to eat.
