Global Safari Pictures

Finally, I got the pictures to upload. Who wants to get close enough to the legless lizard to distinguish it from a snake? You would have to get pretty close to see its eyelids!

Global Safari

Last Friday, we were surprised with a Good Patriot event. All Good Patriots with no more than one absence and no discipline referrals were treated to a Global Safari program in the gym. We saw animals from several different continents such as an Arctic Fox, a 43 year old turtle (that's as old as Ms. Mullins), a prairie dog, a South American raccoon that's actually from Mexico, a legless lizard (it looked just like a snake only it had ears and eyelids), and even an albino Burmese Python. Our very own David got to help hold the python after he was a good listener and answered one of the presenter's questions. It was a really great show and we had such a good time. We're looking forward to the next exciting program. I will post pics ASAP. For some reason, I am having a little difficulty posting right now.

His favorite subject in school is spelling and he is proud that he most always gets a perfect on his spelling tests. He wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom - Look who's in my classroom.

My students had a lot of fun creating their own personalized Chicka Chicka Boom Boom palm trees after hearing the story Chick Chicka Boom Boom. I thought they turned out really cute so we decided to display them in the pod for Open House. Don't forget Open House is this Thursday, September 9, from 5:00-7:00. I also want to remind you that I have to take my son to get another xray on his ankle and I will probably not be there right at 5:00. If you could stop by our classroom closer to 5:45-6:00 that would probably work better. I hope to see you there. I have a surprise for any of my students that stop by. Remember, this is just a time to stop in and check out our classroom. We can't discuss student progress because of confidentiality issues. You will be able to look through you child's work. If you would like to schedule a conference to discuss before annual fall conference time, just let me know.
